Chicago malpractice in psychiatric practices

The true definition of medical malpractice or medical negligence is an act or omission by a doctor or any medical professional which deviates from the agreed upon standards of practice in the medical community and which causes injury to the patient. The patient suffers not only from the original ailment but also from the carelessness of the doctors leading to different complexities.

Malpractice in psychiatric practices have also been in reported in Chicago that had lead to a lot of mental problem and in some cases the negligence has also resulted in the loss of life. These psychiatric malpractices cause mental illness rather than physical injuries. The patients suffer institutional abuse from the medical professions in terms of yelling, beating from the doctors or nurses and also become the victim of some dangerous treatment such as electric shock.

Psychiatric patients are those who are not mentally strong and they are in a state where they do not know what is right and what is wrong. It is the responsibility of the doctor or the psychiatrist to treat them as child and speak to them and make them feel comfortable. But most of the psychiatrists are not like this. They tend to get irritated seeing the patients behavior and tend to show their anger on them. Some of them are so careless that they do not take proper care of the patients. To site an example, a lawsuit was filed on a doctor in Chicago who was found guilty when he discharged a mentally unstable patient just because she has an insurance coverage of only 30 days.
